Self-love means accepting and treating yourself with kindness and respect. It helps your growth and wellbeing. People talk about it a lot these days, but why does it matter? It means thinking and feeling good about yourself. Imagine how you would talk to a friend.
Do the same for yourself. Have a positive view of who you are.
When you love yourself, your relationships get better too. You can forgive yourself and take care of your own needs.
Even helps you make good decisions. Support your well-being just like you do for others. It is normal to feel confused or disappointed sometimes. Loving yourself helps you handle these feelings. Treat yourself with the same love and care you give to others. This makes life better.
My favorite way of looking at self-love is thinking to yourself:
“Would I speak like this to the person I love the most in this world?”
“Whose voice is actually hurting me right now?”
That voice that haunts you and gets in the way of your self-love is usually someone’s voice; a caregiver. Identifying who is saying what when thoughts arise can heighten your self-awareness and help you move towards living a more fulling live full of self-love.
Self-love is important for everyone. It is not just for perfectionists or people with high standards. Loving yourself helps you feel good about yourself and stay motivated. Studies suggest that self-love leads to success and protects against negative thoughts and self-sabotage.
Practicing self-love means reducing harmful behaviours with healthy coping strategies while building self-compassion. It is a vital part of being able to taking action and find new chances and opportunities in your health and your life. It helps us lower stress, take care of ourselves, and stop pushing too far.

10 Reasons to Start Practicing It
Now, let’s discuss the ten reasons why you should start practicing self-love.
Self-love can make our relationships better. I know it’s made my marriage better! Loving myself helps me show up fully for my husband which in turn has a positive effect on our day-to-day relationship.
When you love yourself, you become more confident and understanding. You can set clear boundaries, uphold them, and communicate more effectively. Self-love helps us build trust and respect with others.
When you love yourself, you don't rely on external input to affect the way you see yourself. You attract healthier relationships with people who share our values, making our connections stronger and fulfilling.
Self-love leads to success. It helps you build self-esteem and self-acceptance. When you love yoursf, you make better decisions and set clear goals. That’s becomes good things have a habit of cascading into even better things when you start with small, consistent changes that fill your heart up.
A positive outlook helps us overcome obstacles and self-doubt. Self-love gives us the strength to face challenges and achieve success easily.
Self-love improves emotional resilience. A positive mindset helps us recover from setbacks. Even when we feel discouraged or face negative self-talk, we can bounce back faster.

When I was really struggling with self love I tried an exercise that took a wild to yield results, but hear me out… IT WORKS!

Well, when I was struggling with self-love after a devastating break-up, I looked at myself in the mirror every day for two years and told me how beautiful and amazing I was until I finally believed it.
It was a lot of work to do it consistently to get to that point, but I did it and so can you.

Self-love helps prevent burnout. Liste, I know life gets hectic which is when practicing self-love in the form of kindness comes in handy.
Use this exercise to check your thoughts if you’re not sure if you’re being kind to yourself?
Would I treat the love of my life this way? Would I speak to the love of my life this way?
And then remember that YOU are the love of your life to fill your heart with the corners of your soul.
Regular practices of being careful and focusing on our well-being can help us stay healthy.
Prioritizing self-care keeps us strong physically and mentally. It helps us manage our energy and avoid exhaustion so we can enjoy our daily lives more.
